SUNY Adirondack Foundation Sponsored Scholarships
AES Academic Excellence Scholarship
In order to initially qualify for an Academic Excellence Scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year, a student must:
b) have an SAT or PSAT score of at least 1200 (Math/Critical Reading) or 1800 (Writing, Math
c) have a high school average of at least 90 at the end of his/her junior year *
3. Enroll as a full-time student in the Fall semester immediately following graduation.
4. Inform the ACC Foundation by May 1, 2012 of student’s intention to accept this award for the Fall semester. No applications will be accepted after this deadline.
* Note: Students who rank first or second in their class at the end of the junior year are automatically eligible.
General Conditions
1. In order to qualify for the maximum award, students should apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The maximum AES award for students who do not file the FAFSA is $500. All FAFSA forms must be submitted by July 1, 2012.
2. Students must apply for admission to SUNY Adirondack by July 1, 2012.
3. Students must enroll and register for classes by August 1, 2012.
4. Students who maintain their eligibility will receive the scholarship for four consecutive semesters, with no deferments.
5. If a recipient is deemed ineligible, based on extenuating circumstances, an appeal in writing to the Executive Director of the SUNY Adirondack Foundation may be considered.
6. Students must adhere to all deadlines in order to receive the scholarship.
Maintaining Eligibility
In order to maintain eligibility, a student must:
1. Maintain full-time (12 credits or more) enrollment.
2. Earn a 3.0 minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) during the first semester and thereafter maintain a 3.2 Cumulative Quality Point Average (CQPA) or higherl.

The Award process
1. In January, the SUNY Adirondack Foundation sends a letter accompanied by a nomination form to guidance counselors at each eligible school asking them to submit the names of seniors who meet the established criteria for the AES scholarship.
2. In March, students are notified of their nomination by the SUNY Adirondack Foundation President. Students are advised to complete and return the scholarship acceptance form by May 1st indicating their desire to take advantage of the scholarship offer.
3. Confirmation letters are mailed to students who accept the nomination.
SUNY Adirondack Foundation Scholarships
These scholarships have been established by the Foundation in order to provide financial assistance to students who have financial need but do not qualify for federal or state assistance through either the Pell or TAP programs.
Award: The Foundation provides $14,000 per semester annually, which supports 28 individual awards of $500 per semester. Students who maintain their eligibility in the Fall semester receive the same $500 award for the Spring semester.
Requirements: Applicants for the SUNY Adirondack Foundation Scholarship are required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, the SUNY Adirondack Financial Aid Supplement form, and submit some additional information as requested by the Financial Aid Office.
General Conditions: To maintain this scholarship, recipients are required to:
1. Maintain a 2.5 GPA.
2. File the FAFSA each year.
Award process: The Office of Financial Aid decides on the eligibility of candidates and selects recipients based on unmet financial need.
The Working Scholars Scholarship
The Working Scholars Scholarship is intended to make a college education financially possible for individuals who are employed either on a full or part-time basis.
Award: The Foundation makes funds available annually to support this scholarship, which provides individual awards of up to $500 for full-time students (12 credit hours per semester) and a minimum of $75 per semester for part-time students (three credit hours per semester).
Requirements: To be eligible for the Working Scholars Scholarship, individuals must be:
* gainfully employed a minimum of 20 hours per week
* be a minimum of 24 years old
* enroll in at least 3 credit hours per semester
Award process: Candidates are required to complete an application form and submit their application to the ACC Foundation. The Foundation’s Scholarship and Awards Committee will select recipients based upon the criteria listed above.
International Studies Program Scholarship
This scholarship was established to make it financially possible for SUNY Adirondack students interested in studying abroad to take advantage of the college’s International Studies Program.
Award: The Foundation provides funds annually to support this scholarship program. Individual scholarship awards can be for a maximum of $500.
Requirements: To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must:
* be enrolled for credit in the SUNY Adirondack International Studies Program.
* have demonstrated financial need.
General Conditions: It is expected that students successfully complete the International Studies Program by meeting the entire program’s requirements or refund the scholarship award in the event they do not.
Award process: The selection of students to receive this scholarship is made by the committee of SUNY Adirondack faculty conducting the International Studies Program.
