Basic Rider Course (BRC for License)
Back for its 9th season, the Motorcycle Program at SUNY Adirondack is bigger and better than ever with weekend and mid-week classes. Free loaner bikes and helmets are supplied.
The (MSF) Basic Rider Course is for entry-level students wanting to learn the basics of safe motorcycle riding, want to explore what motorcycle riding is all about, simply need to get a license, or have not ridden for years and simply want to scrape off the rust and clean out the cobwebs. A NYS Motorcycle Learners Permit or NYS “M” endorsed license is required to take this class. Active military or those from out of state need only their military ID or state of residence drivers’ license.
Successful completion of this class earns the student a NYS Motorcycle Road test waiver. (No DMV Riding test). The cost of this one evening and two days class is $275.00.
All registrations for motorcycle classes are done online. Log on to www.adkmc.com, or call Marc at 668-5589 for more information or for a class schedule.
Introduction To Motorcycling Experience (IME )
New to The Motorcycle Safety Program at SUNY Adirondack last season, the IME was a huge success so we are bringing it back with an expanded schedule for 2012. The IME is a three-hour class designed to give absolute novice riders a chance to get on a motorcycle and get it going, under power, with the student in the saddle, in control. (It is not designed to teach a student how to ride). The class is a combination of discussions about motorcycles, rider safety, and what is it like to be on a bike and in control. This is also a great warm up to the Basic Rider Course (BRC).
We supply the bikes and safety wear. No permit is required, and there are only three students in each class. Here is your chance to see if riding a motorcycle is something you are capable of, or something you may want to pursue. This is not a licensing class. The cost of this three hour class is $69.00
