Library of Congress system:
Books, videos and audiobooks are arranged by subject, using the Library of Congress system.
This system is used by most American college libraries.
Click here to see the call number system.
Each letter represents a broad subject, which is then sub-divided.
Periodicals Area:
The ACC Library subscribes to about 340 magazines, journals and newspapers.
They are shelved in alphabetical order by title. They may be photocopied.
Faculty may borrow them.
See the Periodicals link for a full list.
Article databases:

Many offer full-text articles or article citations.
Search them by subject with the Finding Articles link of the Library’s Web page.
Ask a reference librarian which databases are most useful for your research.
Accessing Library databases:
The Library subscribes to dozens of book and article databases.
This is usually material originally appearing in printed form, fact-checked and written by experts.
ACC students, faculty and staff can search these databases from off-campus.
ACC students need their network username and password. Just follow directions on the Student Account Access page.

The Hill family donated a collection of local history books to ACC.
The Hill Collection room is located behind the Periodicals area.
These books cannot be borrowed, but may be used in the library.
