Work Study

Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study.

Please Note: Students must be approved for work study through Financial Aid before applying and being considered for any SUNY Adirondack Work Study-Federal/Institutional position. If you are unsure if you have been awarded please contact Financial Aid. 

How to search for Work Study positions: 

  • Go to College Central Network 
  • Scroll down to Students 
  • Create Account 
  • Sign In 
  • Look for the Search “My School’s Jobs” tab on the left hand side of the screen 
  • In the “View Jobs by Keywords” field, type in: “SUNY Adirondack Work Study” for work study that is awarded by Financial Aid. *Please be sure to use quotations. 

Each posting has a job description with specific application instructions. Postings reflect current openings.

Business Central supports and collaborates with area businesses to fulfill employment, internship and volunteer needs. By managing an online forum available to students, alumni and community residents, we prepare our students for the workforce through a variety of career readiness training and resources. Adirondack Internship Partnership

We are proud to officially announce the Adirondack Internship Partnership, a new initiative connecting students in high school and college with local businesses to support career readiness through experiential learning opportunities.
The Adirondack Internship Partnership partners SUNY Adirondack with the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce, Glens Falls Rotary, EDC Warren County, Glens Falls City School District, Queensbury UFSD and WSWHE BOCES.

New Hire Orientation

Before you can begin at your work study placement you will need to participate in a New Hire Orientation.  Orientation is required and will be held at both the Queensbury and Wilton Campuses.

To see a list of available orientation dates log into your College Central Network account at:sunyadk.com/college_central.

  • Go to the “Events & Programs” tab on the left hand side of the screen.
  • Click on the Calendar tab
  • Look for the events on the calendar labeled “Orientation”
  • Click on the desired orientation date for more information
  • Once you have chosen a date sign up using the red sign up tab

What to expect at orientation:

  • New Hire Paperwork- Appropriate identification required, refer to last page of I9 form.
  • Online time sheet instructions using web time entry
  • Confidentiality
  • Workplace Etiquette

Looking for a place to post a variety of opportunities available within your company?

Access our Career Connections posting board where you can post Employment, Internship and Volunteer opportunities.Posts are accessible to registered Students, Alumni and Community Residents.

Once registered you can post at your convenience 24 hours a day 7 days a week. In addition employers have the opportunity to search resumes that are posted on the system if seeking a particular candidate.      To register go to: sunyadk.com/college_central and click on the employers tab.

Once you are registered you will receive a password from our office which will enable you to return to the system to post and manage your posting.

SUNY Adirondack is also one of 19 schools in the Capital Region (NY) Consortium. You may also post jobs to all 19 schools for free by registering at Capital Region (NY) Consortium.

** If you choose to post with the Capital Region Consortium there is no need to post with our College Central link as well. The post (once approved) goes to our Schools College Central page as well as the other 19 schools just as if you were to post to each individually.
