K. Farrington's wholesale liquor store.  Later, George Lockhart had a grocery store, and in 1871, F. C. Wilson, a grocery.  The most famous shop, 1874 - 1910, was Ruben Peck's Drugs.  It had the first telephone in town connected to the coal yard.  Peck, a native of Glens Falls, b. 1840, sold drugs, medicines and chemicals.  After him, there was Fred Peck and Flint's Drugs followed by James Moriarty's Delicatessen.
