"I am hoping to get an internship at the Queensbury Hotel next semester - the cook is really cool.

I was a computer scientist for 40+ years. I worked for New York State Criminal Justice – their infrastructures were my infrastructures, but I won’t get into all the details – it will just sound like gobbledygook!

I taught for a lot of years and I have a lot of degrees behind me, but this has been my favorite college since… well, forever! My youngest daughter also came to SUNY Adirondack for media arts.

I have a master’s degree in computer science from Union College and I got a master’s degree in telecommunications engineering in Bolder, Colorado – that was fun! I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Siena College and a financial planner certification from The College of St. Rose – plus two degrees from Hudson Valley Community College.

I am doing everything I have always wanted to do. I am cooking and now I play the piano. I am taking music and science courses on top of my culinary and hospitality courses. I took the farming course with Professor Tim Scherbatskoy this summer. I got to refresh our culinary garden - it was fun!

I really enjoy the cooking. Starting in the second semester, you are cooking for the community and from the third semester on, you are creating your own menus.

I am not going to work after this - I am waiting for my husband to retire. My one daughter lives in Florida and my other daughter is getting ready to graduate - she will land somewhere in the world - probably Italy or New Zealand - so I plan to travel around to wherever my babies are and cook for my family.

The students in the culinary program really work hard -they are respectful - they are courteous - and the faculty is just top notch.

I feel like a thief in the night!"
