Winners Announced in ACC's Ten Minute Playwriting Contest (Dec. 22, 2009) -

QUEENSBURY – “Man on TV,” a short play by Craig Thornton of Watertown, NY, is the winner of the Adirondack Community College Theater Program’s Ten Minute Playwriting Contest for 2009.

The second place winner is “Contentless Scene” by A.J. Davidson of Glens Falls. The third place winner is “Atonement” by James Brady of Shushan.

Honorable mentions went to “Stay” by Christine Fitzsimmons of Queensbury and “Reboot” by Matt Udvari of Austin, Texas.

“Man on TV” was chosen as the winner from 22 plays submitted for the competition. Judges included ACC theater and English faculty members, as well as local theater professionals.

The five plays will be performed as staged dramatic readings at the ACC Theater and at a local establishment in February 2010 at dates and times to be announced. The playwrights and cast members will be available for an open discussion period after the readings.
