ACC's Athletes of the Month for January 2010 (Feb. 05, 2010) - QUEENSBURY – Kellen Henderson of Queensbury, Shawn LaChapelle of South Glens Falls and Katie Pinkowski of Argyle have been named Adirondack Community College Athletes of the Month for the month of January 2010.

Kellen, a member of the men’s basketball team, averaged 25 points per game in January and set a school record for points in a game with a 43-point performance against Schenectady County CC January 20. He leads Region III in scoring average and free throw percentage. He was named Region III Athlete of the Week for the week of January 25, averaging 29 points, almost 10 rebounds and 5 assists per game in three games that week. The Timberwolves went 2-1 in those games.

He attended Queensbury High School and is an education major.

Shawn, a two-year co-captain of the ACC bowling team, rolled a perfect 300 game January 23 at the Cayuga Community College Invitational, becoming the second ACC kegler to roll a perfect game in 14 years. His triple of 775/300 at the Cayuga tournament is second in ACC history, and he and teammate Chris Van Grinsven took the gold medal in doubles with 1,925 total pins. At the Westchester Community College Invitational on January 30, Shawn won the gold medal in singles with a score of 662/269 and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Shawn attended South Glens Falls High School and is a liberal arts major.

Katie, a freshman guard on ACC’s women’s basketball team, averaged 12.2 points per game in December and January and took over the point guard duties following an injury to the starting point guard. She is second on the team in rebounding and is regularly assigned to guard the opposing team’s best player.

She attended Argyle High School and is a business major.
