SUNY Adirondack will present a literary reading featuring students published in Expressions magazine and graduating Creative Writing majors from 12:40 to 1:50 p.m. May 3 in the Visual Arts Gallery on the Queensbury campus.
Expressions is an annual campus publication featuring student poetry, photography, nonfiction, fine art, fiction, music, graphic art and recipes. The free magazine, which is distributed on campus, is student operated and published at the end of each Spring semester.
SUNY Adirondack is only one of two New York community colleges to offer a Creative Writing degree. The program features a foundation of introductory classes in composition and communication, which set the stage for advanced classes focusing on technical elements of different writing genres. Through lectures, readings, writing exercises and examining the published works of others, students study the history of literature and how it informs our world today.
The reading is free and open to the public.
