The SUNY Adirondack Symphonic Band will mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 in the SUNY Adirondack Theatre on the Queensbury campus.

The program, which also serves as a memorial to Sen. John McCain, includes a setting of the “Navy Hymn” (“Eternal Father, Strong to Save”) by Claude T. Smith and Percy Grainger’s “Irish Tune from County Derry,” which is a setting of McCain’s favorite song, “Danny Boy.” In addition to several other musical selections, SUNY Adirondack Professor of English Kathleen McCoy will read poetry.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The SUNY Adirondack Symphonic Band is comprised of students and community members, including music educators from the region.
