College Lecture Series March 26: Medical Mission in Guatemala
QUEENSBURY – SUNY Adirondack adjunct professor of nursing Kathy Rittenhouse will talk about her medical mission trip to Guatemala on Mon., March 26, at 12:40 p.m. in Miller Auditorium, Dearlove Hall, on the SUNY Adirondack campus in Queensbury.
The public is invited and admission is free.
Rittenhouse and her son Dan visited Sarstun, Guatemala in July 2011. She will share photos from the trip and reflections on their journey.
Rittenhouse has been an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Adirondack since 2003. She also serves as Clinical Lab coordinator for the college’s nursing program. She has taught classes in adolescent health care, physical assessment and cultural diversity in health and illness. Cultural diversity in healthcare is her passion and interest.
Rittenhouse graduated from Boston College with a BS in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at UCLA and graduated from UCLA’s Masters in Nursing program. She has also worked as family nurse practitioner at a large outpatient medical facility in Redondo Beach, Calif. She lives in Saratoga Springs with her family.
The presentation is part of SUNY Adirondack’s College Lecture Series and is sponsored by SUNY Adirondack’s Professional Development Committee. The talk will last about an hour.
