January 09, 2017

Kathleen Grasmeder has been appointed to the SUNY Adirondack Board of Trustees by the Warren County Board of Supervisors.

Grasmeder, a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Glens Falls, will serve on the board through June 30, 2017, to fulfill the unexpired term vacated by Mark Bulmer after his resignation.

“I feel SUNY Adirondack is important to the community because it offers higher education at a reasonable price. I believe very strongly in higher education – knowledge is never wasted,” Grasmeder said.

“Kathleen Grasmeder’s professional background in finance makes her a strong addition to the SUNY Adirondack Board of Trustees,” said  SUNY Adirondack Board of Trustees Chair Patricia Pietropaolo. “I welcome her experience as a community leader and look forward to the insight she will bring to the college as a member of the Board.”

Grasmeder is hopeful that her time on the Board will help fortify the contribution SUNY Adirondack makes to the region’s job market.

“I am interested in understanding how colleges are changing to meet the needs of today’s diverse student population in order to advance skills needed to continuously improve the workforce locally,” she said.

The SUNY Adirondack Board of Trustees also includes Chair Patricia Pietropaolo, Vice Chair Robert Judge, Secretary Alan Redeker, R. Harry Booth, Cailie Currin, Bernice Mennis, John Morabito and John F. Strough.
