Lisa Dester promoted to Director of Business Affairs at SUNY Adirondack

QUEENSBURY ­– SUNY Adirondack today (Jan. 17) announced the promotion of Lisa A. Dester as the college’s new Director of Business Affairs. Dester will oversee the college’s business operations, including operational oversight of SUNY Adirondack’s $25 million annual operating budget.

Dester, of Queensbury, has more than 15 years experience in financial and legal services, most recently serving as SUNY Adirondack’s Financial Services Staff Accountant. Prior to arriving at SUNY Adirondack, Dester worked for Champlain Stone in Warrensburg as an Assistant Controller. 

“We are pleased to have Lisa Dester appointed as Director of Business Affairs,” said Kevin Rielly, the college’s Chief Financial Officer. “Lisa has a varied background in public accounting, business and teaching.  Her wide span of expertise will make her an effective addition to the College.”

Dester holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY Old Westbury, as well as Bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Psychology from Adelphi University. Outside of work, she volunteers with the Little Shelter Animal Rescue and is an affiliate of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Certified Public Accountants.

With locations in Queensbury, Wilton, and online, SUNY Adirondack is a growing campus of the nation’s largest university, the State University of New York.
