SUNY Adirondack appoints Tressie LaFay Assistant to the President
(QUEENSBURY, NY – July 17, 2014) – Tressie LaFay of Saratoga Springs has been appointed assistant to the president at SUNY Adirondack.
LaFay most recently served as Assistant Administrative Director of the Program in Narrative Medicine for Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York, NY.

LaFay earned an M.S. in narrative medicine from Columbia University and a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont.
“We are excited to have someone with Tressie’s experience and skill on our leadership team,” said Dr. Kristine Duffy, president of SUNY Adirondack. “She will be an asset to the President’s Office.”
LaFay’s new duties will include serving on the president’s senior leadership team; acting as Title IX compliance officer and coordinator of FOIL requests; acting as a liaison to the President’s Office to both internal and external constituents; providing executive level administrative support to the president; drafting, preparing, proofreading and editing documents and correspondence; managing the president’s office calendar schedule; and representing the president at meetings and events when requested.
With locations in Queensbury, Wilton, and online, SUNY Adirondack is a growing campus of the nation’s largest university, the State University of New York. SUNY Adirondack serves students via its credit and Continuing Education programs.
