Tennis Head Coach

FUNCTION:   The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the sport to include successfully organizing and implementing a recruiting/retention plan, integrating the program into the campus community, supervising practice/contests, supporting student-athlete success and managing the program in accordance with department/college/NJCAA rules and regulations. Additional duties may be assigned by the Athletic Director. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coaching responsibilities include all aspects of the intercollegiate sport program
  • Planning and executing practice, recruiting, training, and supervising athletes
  • Scheduling athletic contests and arranging transportation in conjunction with the Athletic Director
  • In conjunction with the Equipment Manager, Maintaining athletic equipment, supplies and facilities; and enforcing college, conference and NJCAA rules and student requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Experience in coaching as a head or assistant coach or have played sport at the NJCAA level or higher.
  • Knowledge of recruiting and the NJCAA rules of competition and eligibility.  

Required

  • Experience coaching or participating in the sport at the High School or College level
  • Strong organizational, management and teamwork skills
  • Solid administration and computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness and desire to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds
