Multimedia Classrooms
Instructional Technology Services designs, equips, and supports multimedia classrooms. All ACC classrooms are equipped, at minimum, with a TV monitor, a DVD/VCR, a screen, and an overhead projector. A multimedia classroom is an integrated system that offers instructors the opportunity to use many different computer and media-based technologies easily without having to transport, set up and take down equipment with every single use. It consists of a ceiling-mounted multimedia projector and an instructor's station that usually includes a document camera (ELMO), a computer with CD-ROM drive, and a VCR/DVD player. An integrated sound system with wall speakers broadcasts program audio from an audio CD, CD ROM, computer programs, the World Wide Web, VCR, DVD, Laser Disc, etc. Lecture rooms include additional components.
The multimedia instructor's station can access the college's computer network as well as the Internet. Faculty can prepare materials in their offices and to access them easily in the classroom. The multimedia classroom's connectivity to the Internet brings all of the Internet's Web Pages, with text, graphics, video, and sound into the classroom. Each multimedia classroom is also connected to the college's closed circuit TV and satellite dish system, which allows live cable TV and live satellite TV teleconferences to be shown in the multimedia equipped room.

How can I get a multimedia classroom for my courses?
Submit your request for a multimedia classroom through your division chair, with a copy to the
Registrar as well. Multimedia classrooms are in high demand so submit your request for the next term as soon as
possible in the schedule-planning process. If you need training in the use of classroom equipment, please contact
Instructional Technology Services prior to the beginning of the term.
If you need to use an instructor's multimedia station only occasionally, request a
deliverable station from ITS. All classrooms have connections to our college network and to the Internet.
