Fall Scholarship Reception

The ACC Foundation's Fall Scholarship Reception was held on the evening of Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Student Center on the Adirondack Community College Campus. This annual reception is held to honor both the individuals responsible for sponsoring and supporting annual scholarships and the recipients receiving these scholarships. It gives recipients the opportunity to personally acknowledge their sponsors while being formally recognized.

Over 100 people attended the Scholarship Reception. Those on hand to congratulate donors and recipients included family members, members of the ACC Foundation Board of Directors, College Trustees, and College faculty and staff.

Foundation Director and Chair of the Scholarship Committee, Robert Joy, again hosted the Fall Scholarship Reception. Three scholarship recipients spoke about the opportunity offered to them by their scholarships, reminding us of the power of having a dream and of getting an education to achieve that dream: Michael Williams, recipient of the Fitzgerald Brothers Business Scholarship; Colby Campney, recipient of the Norm Stahlman/Washington County Association of Street and Highway Officials Scholarship; and Jessica Thompson-Murray, recipient of the Charles Morris Memorial Scholarship and Wings Falls Quilters Guild Scholarship.

The ACC Foundation makes possible the annual award of over 200 scholarships based upon financial need or academic excellence. For further information on how you can donate to an existing scholarship or establish a new one, please call the ACC Foundation Office at 743-2243.
