Special Admissions

Early Admissions

The College has established an Early Admission Program in accordance with State Education Department guidelines in order to provide academically capable high school seniors an opportunity to take college-level courses. These guidelines require an average of 85% or higher in a Regents course of study and a recommendation from the high school guidance counselor or principal. Early Admission Application forms can be obtained from a high school guidance counselor or from the Admissions Office at ACC. Early Admission students are ineligible for both federal and state aid.

International Students

Students who are citizens of other countries must complete a SUNY Application which is available at the ACC Admissions Office. In addition, they must submit exam results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). In general, a score of 500 is required for acceptance. Information on the TOEFL is available by writing to TOEFL/TSE Services, Order Service Section, PO Box 6154, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6151.

International students are also required to have a sponsor who will assure the College that housing and financial matters will be adequately covered while the student is enrolled.

Health Science Admissions Requirements

Nursing - Required Pre-Requisite Courses

Regents Biology and Chemistry with minimum Regents grades of 75*
or
Biology 103 and Chemistry 103 - minimum grade of C*

*Must be completed within the last five years.

Students with disabilities

The Office of Accessabiliity Services actively promotes and maintains educational equity for individuals with disabilities and adult, disadvantaged students. Our goal is to provide facility and program access to all qualified students based on individual needs. The office works closely with various agencies including the Vocational Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID), the Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH), the Employment and Training Offices (JTPA), and Social Services in coordinating funding resources and support services.

Transfer Students

Transfer students who wish to attend Adirondack on a full-time basis must complete a SUNY application and mail it to the SUNY Application Processing Center, State University Plaza, Albany, NY 12246-0001, along with a copy of their high school transcript and/or GED and the application fee. Transfer students must also send an official transcript from all colleges previously attended directly to the ACC Admissions Office.
