Transitioning from High School to College

The resources on this page are designed to assist students with disabilities who are planning to attend college. This phase often referred to as .Transition,. can be confusing for many students and we are here to help. In addition to the workshops below, you may find the links to the left helpful for your planning and consideration of ACC.

Small Group Transition Workshops

Throughout each spring semester the Director of Accessibility Services Office and the Learning Specialist are available to assist in the transition of high school students with disabilities who are planning to attend ACC. High school guidance staff and transition coordinators are welcome to contact us to schedule small group transition presentations. High school students, parents and transition planning staff are welcome to attend these sessions which usually run about one hour followed by a tour of campus.

Recipes for College Success

Each spring semester ACC works in cooperation with WSWHE BOCES, VESID and the Northern New York Transition Coordination Site to host a transition conference for area students with disabilities called .A Recipe for College Success.. We will hold our 10th annual conference on March 21, 2005. Please see the link to the left for more information and a registration form.
