2007 - 2008 Student Elections

We're glad you have decided to run for a position on the Student Senate or the Faculty-Student Association (FSA) Board! These are some of the most important roles for students on the ACC campus.

2007 - 2008 OPEN POSITIONS

Student Senate President (1 position)
Student Senate Treasurer (1 position)
Student Trustee on the ACC Board of Trustees (1 position)
Sophomore Senator (7 positions)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Position descriptions for each office listed above are available in the Student Activities Office and on the ACC web site.
  • The Student Senate and its officers are the elected student body empowered to allocate student activity fees, charter clubs and organizations and to represent student ideas and concerns within the ACC community.
  • To attend weekly Senate meetings at 12:30 on Wednesdays. Officers must also attend weekly Executive Board meetings.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Students applying for any of these openings must have completed 28 or more credit hours.
  • Candidates for membership in any position of the Senate must have obtained either a cumulative or quality grade point average of at least 2.00 at the end of the semester immediately prior to that semester in which the candidate is running for the position.
  • A person may only run for one Student Senate office in any election.
Faculty-Student Association Board of Directors
Student Members (5 positions)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To assist the FSA Board in its service and budget planning for Food Service, Child Care, and Bookstore operations and others as needed on the ACC campus
  • To provide a student perspective in all deliberations
  • To attend monthly meetings of the FSA Board of Directors (3rd Friday of each month).
ELIGIBILITY
  • Students applying for any of these openings must have completed 28 or more credit hours by September 1, 2007.
  • Candidates for the Faculty-Student Association Board of Directors must have a minimum of 2.00 cumulative grade point average. Additionally, student members are expected to maintain a CGPA of 2.0 during their tenure on the Board.
ELECTION TIMELINE
  • Completed applications, signature lists, and candidate platforms must be returned to the Student Activities Office no later than 4:00pm on Friday, April 6, 2007.
  • All candidates are required to participate in a Meet the Candidates Forum on Monday, April 9 at 12:45pm in the Scoville Quad.
  • All candidates are strongly encouraged to attend the weekly Student Senate meeting on Wednesday, April 11 at 12:30pm.
  • Election voting will be held from 8:00am on Monday, April 16, 2007 through 1:00pm on Friday, April 20, 2007.
  • All newly elected officers and Senators will be required to complete a Senate orientation no later than June 1, 2007.
