INTERNSHIP

Upon completion of the Introduction to Museum Studies (ART 215) it is possible to do an internship for credit either at ACC or in a local museum.  Details are available through the professor of the class.

GALLERY ASSISTANT

Students work with the Director of the Visual Arts Gallery each semester. Responsibilities include guard duty and assistance with the installation of exhibitions.  Assistants are paid for 6-10 hours of work per week.  Application is made to the Gallery Director.

CURATORIAL ASSISTANT

One student each year serves as a curatorial assistant.  The student works closely with the Curator of the ACC Art Collection and must have computer knowledge for data entry and management.  Assistants are paid for 10 hours of work per week.  Applications are made through the Financial Aid Office and the Art Curator.

ART SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship is awarded by ACC to a student who is transferring for further education in Art History or Studio Art (The KBC Art Scholarship). This scholarship is given at an awards ceremony in the spring.  Applications are available at the Financial Aid Office.

AWARDS

Each year at the end of the Spring Semester two awards are given in Art History:  The Parnassus Award recognizes creative and inspiring work done in Art History courses; the Humanities Award recognizes high academic achievement in art history.

ACC’S INTERNATIONAL STUDY COURSES

These may offer the opportunity for students to experience selected monuments in the history of art. Past study has included trips to Greece, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic, Spain, Holland, Germany, Austria, England and Japan.  Refer to current course offerings for information.
