Adirondack Community College is a comprehensive two-year college and member of the State University of New York, located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, one hour north of Albany and twenty minutes from historic Saratoga Springs. ACC seeks outstanding applicants who have a demonstrated commitment to a student-centered classroom environment which values learning, excellence, fairness, freedom of inquiry, and integrity. Applicants must also have experience incorporating various learning styles into their instruction. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to integrate technology into teaching would be a strong plus.

ADJUNCT FACULTY

Part-time instructors are needed for the following disciplines:

ASL 100 American Sign Language, May 27 - July 3, TWR, 4:15 – 6:30 pm
Qualifications Minimum: Bachelors degree, teaching experience and interactive experience with the Deaf community. Preferred: Masters degree, teaching experience in the post-secondary setting and extensive interaction within the Deaf community.

Adventure Sports

Part time instructors are needed for the following positions:

Adventure Sports Instructor Assistant - Summer 08
Adirondack Park Policies and Issues Adjunct Instructor – Fall 08
Adventure Sports Challenge Course Adjunct Instructor – Fall 08, Spring 09
Adventure Snow Sports Adjunct Instructor Spring 09

Applicants must have: A.S./A.A. or B.A./B.S. with experience in adventure education, outdoor leadership, experiential education, challenge course facilitation or an educational related discipline.

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MECHANICAL TECHNOLOGY

This full-time, tenure-track position in the technology division requires a strong drafting/design background teaching drafting techniques, Engineering Graphics and CAD, mechanical design, architecture (residential and commercial) and basic machining theory. The successful candidate must have comprehensive experience with AutoCad, Solidworks, and CNC Programming (MasterCam) software.

A bachelor’s degree in Technical Education, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology required. A master’s degree is preferred. Prior teaching, especially in a community college environment, is also preferred as well as prior industrial experience. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy; are familiar with the use of technology in the classroom; have excellent interpersonal skills; and are willing to work in a collegial setting within the division.

The salary range is $37,000-$42,907 and is complemented by a generous benefits package.

Certified Athletic Trainer
Instructor of Physical Education


Full time tenure track position as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Education Instructor. Duties will include providing athletic training needs for Home Varsity sporting events and for the teaching of various Physical Education courses which may include Health, Wellness, First Aid, Fitness and Conditioning and other physical education classes.

Candidates must have certification as Athletic Trainer and have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or related subject areas, Teaching Experience preferred. Other duties might include coaching in one of the Men’s or Women’s varsity sports, developing the fitness center and its equipment, and college duties commensurate with a full time position.
