Deferment Of Tuition Payment

After you have correctly completed the application procedures, you will be sent a financial aid notification informing you of the amount of aid you have been awarded. If this occurs before the date your tuition bill is due to be paid, you may follow the instructions to use your financial aid award toward your tuition charges. Federal Pell Grants may also be used toward books and supply purchases in the College Bookstore. Any award amounts which are not applied towards your tuition or books will be paid directly to you after the eighth week of classes each semester.

If you do not receive your financial aid notification before your tuition bill is due, you must pay the bill with your own resources. The total award amount will then be paid directly to you after the eighth week of classes each semester. It is therefore best to begin the application procedures no later than eight weeks before your tuition is due to be paid.

Summer Financial Aid

Some of the financial aid programs may be used toward the cost of summer  study at ACC if you enroll in at least one course during any one or a combination of the two summer sessions.

TAP may be used if you attend ACC full-time during either the preceding spring or subsequent fall semester and you enroll in at least six credits.* Complete the Express TAP Application (ETA).

*Part-time TAP is available to an ADA eligible student regardless of the student's prior spring or expected fall enrollment if enrolled for at least 3 credits during the summer.

Federal Pell Grants may also be used. To determine how to apply, understand that you are entitled to two full-time semesters of Pell per academic year. If you did not use your entire allotment in the prior year, you may not need to complete a new application to receive Pell in the summer. If you did use your full allotment, or if you were not enrolled at ACC during the prior year, then you must complete the application materials, and use a portion of your Pell allotment.

Federal Student Loans may also be used. You must enroll in at least six credits to be eligible for a loan.
