Letter from the Student Association President

Happy Day and Welcome to Adirondack Community College!

My name is Renee` St. Jacques and I am President of Student Senate here at ACC. From the beautiful campus and many classrooms to the wonderful faculty and staff, I have found my life here to be filled with not only education and learning, but fun filled days of friendship and new experiences. When I first came here I had no intention of getting involved, but I figured out quickly that it is very easy to do just that.

There are many ways for you to make your semesters here interesting and more than just going to class every day. Club Drive is held early in the semester and you can meet other students that share your interests. If you don't find a club that suits you, you can always start your own! Get involved with Student Senate and be the voice of students. Be able to plan and put on activities with the College Activity Board. There are also a variety of sports that ACC offers that will give you that few hours a day to work hard out of the classroom. By being involved and meeting new people, many opportunities can be presented to you.

With the resources ACC provides, any questions you have can be answered and advice is given freely. Student Services is right there to advise you on transfer opportunities, college degrees, and your plans for the future. There is also a math lab, Reading and Writing Center, and many other various tutoring and it's all free for students! Don't be afraid to ask questions!

There is nothing stopping you from making your years here at ACC better than you ever expected a community college to be!

With hope,

Renee` St. Jacques
ACC Student Senate President
