It covers finger spelling, signs, grammar, syntax, sentence structure, non-manual behaviors, basic communication techniques, and conversational skills as well as receptive and expressive language skill development. Discussion regarding Deaf culture is incorporated. Participation in the deaf community is required. |

| A continuation of level 1 (101). Students will increase their knowledge of this visual-gestural language. They will also improve their flexibility and clarity of signs in order to better communicate with Deaf people. Prerequisites: ASL 101 or ASL 101X. |
