SUNY Adirondack Continuing Education is committed to providing a comprehensive variety of high quality non-credit programs and courses that reflect the learning interests of our local community. Open enrollment courses and contract training courses are taught in the areas of:
Courses are offered at our Queensbury campus, Wilton Center, Adventure Sports Facility, online, or at your business.
We are one of the largest providers of education and training to the area business community. Some of our partners are Finch Paper, Irving Tissue, Bard, Delcath, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, Saint Gobain, Precision Extrusion, Adirondack Studios, Six Flags/Great Escape -just to name a few. Customized contract training is developed to meet the specific needs of each business. Individuals interested in expanding their knowledge, changing career directions or working toward a promotion may register for an open enrollment course – either as face to face or online. Coursework is offered in the areas such as: computer training, business writing, OSHA, human resource management, medical coding, ServSafe certification and leadership.
We offer programs for all ages. Our Youth Programming includes after school programming to area K-12 schools for students interested in science, a 4-day Winter Enrichment Program during mid-winter break and a 3-week Summer Enrichment program in July. Our emphasis is conveying science, math and the arts as fun and engaging activities! For general community Personal Enrichment we offer courses in a variety of topics, such as: Art, Astrology, Health and Fitness, Memoir Writing, Motorcycle Riding, Culinary, Driver Education, etc, as well as our highly popular Senior Lecture Series (offered both fall and spring semester). We draw on the local community to share their talents, hobbies and passion with others. In addition, we provide year round contract training in our Adventure Sports Center to local agencies such as Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts and SUNY Plattsburgh.
