Maegan Hanley
Traditional students like Maegan Hanley of Fort Ann, who might otherwise leave our region for a four-year college, will have the opportunity to earn an advanced degree — and hopefully begin their careers — right here in our area. Maegan earned her associate’s degree from ACC and is now working toward her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh on the ACC campus — while living at home, working locally and contributing to the regional economy.

Peter and Pam
Telisky
Returning adult students who now travel to Albany, Vermont or beyond to earn advanced degrees — many while working full-time and raising a family — will find it more convenient and affordable to achieve their academic and career goals. Peter and Pam Telisky of Whitehall are both pursuing teaching degrees through SUNY Plattsburgh on the ACC Campus — saving time and money, while working toward rewarding careers.

JoAnn Trinkle
and Fred Monroe
Community leaders like Washington County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman JoAnn Trinkle and Warrren County Board of Supervisors Chairman Fred Monroe look forward to the many benefits the Regional Higher Education Center will bring to our regional economy. Soon, more local people will remain in the area during their college years rather than taking their tuition dollars, buying power and brain power to the Capital District, Vermont or beyond.

J. Buckley
Bryan, Jr.
ACC’s central mission of providing quality two-year degree programs will be strengthened as more students begin their college careers at ACC, knowing they have the option of continuing on to earn a four-year degree on the same campus. J. Buckley Bryan, Jr., who earned three degrees on the ACC campus and now serves as an adjunct faculty member and president of the ACC Foundation Board, is so encouraged by the prospects for ACC’s future that he has made a lead gift in excess of $1 million to help build the Center.

“We live in a competitive, global economy which is driven by innovation, where organizations and businesses rely more and more on college-educated workers. The four-year degree partnerships developed through the Regional Higher Education Center at ACC reflect a higher education strategy that is attuned to this need and will pay dividends to our state’s overall economic development in the decades ahead.”

“Glens Falls Hospital already relies heavily on ACC’s two-year registered nursing program to meet its nursing needs. Now, ACC’s partnership with SUNY Plattsburgh at the Regional Higher Education Center will make it possible for more local nurses to earn bachelor’s degrees, further enhancing the expertise and care available at the Hospital.”
