Employment Background:
Maintained a 23-year long career in the Glens Falls are as a NYS Licensed Optician. Looking for variety and a challenge while continuing to care for people.

Why did you choose to pursue a degree in nursing?
“My love for people and caring for them.  We will all need someone to care for us at some point in our lives and I want to be one of those people providing the care.” “The health care field is exciting, fast paced, and ever changing, which will keep me challenged and continually educating myself.

What do you like most about the nursing field?
“The care of patients and being there to help them in their time of need.  Also, the excitement of the field and the changing technology.  Just knowing you can make a difference in a person’s life.”

Please share any additional information you feel might be helpful to someone considering a career in the health sciences.
"I have had the pleasure of meeting many men in the nursing field who, like myself, absolutely love what they are doing. It's exciting, rewarding, and a very challenging field. The shortage of nurses today makes gaining employment pretty much a guarantee and I might add that men are oftentimes getting first choices. There should never be a lack of employment in health care and you can pretty much pave your own way."

"I just can't imagine any other job that you can feel so satisfied with when you leave at the end of the day. It is a wonderful feeling to know when you leave at the end of a day that you have made a difference. The nursing faculty at ACC is to be commended on the excellent job that they do in preparing students for the field. Each and everyone of them goes beyond the call of duty."
