Adjunct Professor of Biology

DEPARTMENT: Science Division         

FUNCTION:  Instruction in classroom and laboratory settings

RESPONSIBILITIES: The instructional responsibilities for these adjunct positions in the Science Division will involve teaching one section of Biology 161 (Introduction to Soils) at the Queensbury Campus.  This course involves both a lecture and lab component, with 3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab each week.

The course is a required course for the Agricultural Business AAS degree.

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy; familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom; teaching strategies with a focus on student-centered learning; excellent interpersonal skills; and a willingness to work in a collegial setting within the division.

REQUIREMENTS: A Master’s degree in Biology or related appropriate field is required, with experience in Soil Sciences.  Teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable, especially experience in a community college environment.

SALARY:  $1,030 per credit hour
