WRAP Reimagine Grant

SUNY Adirondack’s Workforce Readiness Academies Program (WRAP) provides free training opportunities for residents over 18 years of age who have been impacted by COVID and seeking occupational skills training to launch a career or switch into a high-demand industry like IT or health care. Included in the program are customized services based on participant need, such as success coaching and career services resources.
The SUNY Reimagine Workforce Preparation Training Program is fully funded by the United States Department of Education as part of an award totaling $18,067,845.02, with 0 percent financed from state and/or non-governmental sources. Our office provides open enrollment courses supporting career preparation and professional development across a range of industries, including but not limited to:

  • Small business start-up and expansion — Start-Up ADK course in partnership with the Warren & Washington LDCs (details are listed under Entrepreneurship in our online catalog)
  • Certification, licensing and exam preparation courses vary by semester. These may include:
    • Wastewater treatment
    • ServSafe food safety certification
    • Bartending & mixology
    • Notary public license exam preparation
    • Insurance prelicensing

Adobe Certification and Testing

SUNY Adirondack is proud to offer Adobe certification exam services! Whether you’re a student or a professional, Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) certifications can give you the edge you need on your resume by adding an industry-recognized credential. Exams currently offered include:
  • Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop®
  • Video Communication using Adobe Premiere® Pro
  • Graphic Design & Illustration using Adobe Illustrator®
  • Print & Digital Media Publication using Adobe InDesign®

Online Career Training Programs

Ed2Go is one of SUNY Adirondack’s online training partners. Through both instructor-led and self-paced online learning programs, students can take short non-credit courses to pursue personal interests or explore career fields. In addition, fully online certificate programs are available, some offering industry-recognized credentials in high-need fields from healthcare to information technology. UGotClass: SUNY Adirondack Continuing Education has also partnered with the Learning Resources Network (LERN) to offer several UGotClass professional development certificates and courses. Computer & Software Training

The Office of Continuing Education offers computer training for companies. Courses may be offered in a classroom environment or in a group training customized to serve our local businesses — online or in person.

Classroom environment: Courses may be scheduled based on community interest throughout the year. Once we have sufficient demand to run a particular course, it may be offered.

Small and large group training: Customized group training is available for employers or agencies seeking staff development. Employers specify the instruction needed. Small- and large-group training is available; rates are based on group size and length of instruction. Customized manuals are also available as training aids.

Available topics include, but are not limited to:

  • General Instruction (Introduction to PCs)
  • Adobe Software (Acrobat, Photoshop)
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher, Word)
