College to showcase pathways to in-demand health care careers

QUEENSBURY, New York (March 30, 2022) — SUNY Adirondack will offer a look behind the scenes of its health science program offerings at an Open House event April 5.
Learn about the variety of health care career paths, talk with faculty and students, and find out how to apply for admission, registration and the incredible financial assistance available to make college affordable. Visit the college’s state-of-the-art science and technology laboratories and Nursing simulation suites, and see a demonstration of the high-tech Anatomage, a 3D dissection and diagnostic table. 

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will include information about SUNY Adirondack’s health science academic programs, including Liberal Arts & Sciences: Mathematics & Science, with concentration offerings in Biology, Chemistry and Health Education; Nursing; and short-term training programs to start work on a career in health sciences.

“People know SUNY Adirondack has an incredible Nursing program, but the college offers much more than a singular degree program,” said Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., president of SUNY Adirondack. “Health care is always changing and the college adapts its offerings to meet the needs of the region, so our students can go on to become healthcare administrators, scientists, lab technicians, medical device engineers, physical therapists, doctors and many more.” 

The event is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in furthering their career, changing fields or just learning more about in-demand career paths is encouraged to attend.

The college offers degree programs that prepare graduates to enter the workforce or transfer to a bachelor’s degree program. SUNY Adirondack also offers non-credit courses to help individuals work toward certification, advance or change their career paths, or learn new skills.
