Public invited to enter all-ages tournament, fundraiser for women's team

QUEENSBURY (March 14, 2022) — SUNY Adirondack and the Student Association of SUNY Adirondack invite teams of all ages to register for its inaugural Coach T’s Ball ’Til You Fall 3 on 3 Tournament.

The tournament — which runs April 30 and May 1 in the college’s Gymnasium — offers five divisions: Elementary (boys and girls, grades 4-5); Middle School (boys and girls, grades 6-8); High School (boys and girls, grades 9-12); Millennials (co-ed, ages 19 to 39); and Legends (co-ed, ages 40 and older). 

“This is a great opportunity for community members of all ages to show their game, and to just have a great time,” said Cornelius Tavarres, head coach of SUNY Adirondack’s women’s basketball team. 

The tournament entry fee is $100 a team, for up to four players. Teams are guaranteed at least three 12-minute games. The double-elimination tournament is a fundraiser for SUNY Adirondack Women’s Basketball program, which in the 2021-22 season made it to Regionals with a 7-11 record in conference play and 9-14 overall. 

The team also saw Jessalyn Tennant named to the Second Team All-Conference and Tavarres named Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year.

Ball ’Til You Fall will be held on four courts, with room for spectators. Concessions will be available and registration prizes will be given.
