SUNY Adirondack offers scholarships to adults for business program

Admissions meeting for adult learner

SUNY Adirondack launched an accelerated program for its Business Administration degree last year, enabling students to earn an associate degree in 16 months or less.

The college is offering a guaranteed $500 scholarship to new students who enroll full-time in the accelerated program for the fall.

The program was designed to give working adults greater access to earning a college degree – and increasing their income potential. Nicholas Zigich, a student in the program from Saratoga Springs, mentioned that “The experience has been fantastic — it has definitely gone above what I expected from the program. The professors have been wonderful and helpful, and the amount of resources available to students is impressive.”

Designed specifically for busy adults who need to balance hectic work and/or family responsibilities, the program follows a two-evening-a-week schedule and includes online courses. This design limits the time required to be on campus and allows students to complete some of the coursework at their own convenience.

“The night classes are perfect for my schedule. I would encourage people to try this program,” said Sierra Savage a student from Queensbury, who works full time at Glens Falls Hospital. “It’s nice that SUNY Adirondack created an option for adult learners who can’t fit into a traditional college schedule.”

Applications will be accepted for the Fall 2019 semester through Aug. 23.
