"My family is really important to me and I wanted to be able to go to college but still be close to home, so SUNY Adirondack was a great fit. I took culinary classes through BOCES in high school which sparked my interest. I also got my feet wet by working at the Grist Mill in Warrensburg. Chef Matt has been amazing, I learn something new every day with him. I started my internship here at The Sagamore last June and when that ended Chef Lori asked me to stay on and I've been working here ever since. I have learned so much from her.

I think as a culinary student you have to learn to adapt to the environment you are working in. The culinary arts center at the college is such a great asset to the program, and the community really.

Chef Linda has shown me so much too, I knew nothing about baking before taking her classes. This internship was an invaluable experience for me. I am going to get my business degree online after I graduate in the spring. I'd love to own a bakeshop someday or any kind of restaurant, but working at The Sagamore right now is pretty incredible.
