“I have quite a few jobs here. I am a Student Ambassador for Admissions and I am an Accepted Student Day Leader, so I work the orientations, take future students on tours of the campus and introduce them to the college experience. I also work as an R.A. in the residence hall, so I get to know most of the students pretty well, which is really nice.

I compete in public speaking, which has really helped me in my roles here. I have competed the last two years at SUNY Plattsburgh’s Free Enterprise Marathon Competition.

I was a little shy and quiet in my previous school, so getting involved in public speaking has really helped me come into my own and has helped to build my confidence.

I found that it has even helped me with my business degree; I have developed networking skills that I didn’t have before.

Once I complete my associate degree here at SUNY Adirondack, I hope to transfer on to the University at Albany because I really admire their business program.”
