SUNY Adirondack recognizes the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) exams and awards credit for successful completion of AP exams in the same manner transfer credits are awarded. Successful completion of AP exams is indicated by grades of 3, 4 or 5. Credits awarded from AP exams must meet degree requirements in an appropriate academic area. They can also be used for elective credit. A maximum of 34 credits may be awarded. These credits will not automatically transfer to another college.

NOTES:
1.    Certification must be valid and from the stated exam. Student with expired or older certification may be eligible for credit by exam.
2.    Original copies will be submitted to the Registrar’s Office. Registrar will make a copy and return original to the student.
3.    The college reserves the right to withdraw the transfer credit if student demonstrated knowledge is not consistent with expected knowledge from the earned certification.
4.    Students with scores less than the stated minimum may be eligible for a credit by exam. Effective for 2020-2021 credit by exam fees are waived.
