Spirituality for the 21st Century — Reincarnation & Past Lives (currently full; waitlisted)
April 23 to May 7
Wednesdays | 1 to 3 p.m. | Queensbury campus
This class explores the research of psychiatrists, psychologists, medical doctors and scientists into the realm of spirituality. We look at near-death experiences, past lives, regression hypnosis, reincarnation, quantum physics and consciousness, children’s past lives, soul mates, etc.
Explore questions including: Have you ever experienced “déjà vu” — that feeling you know someone you just met for the first time? Do you have unexplained pains, anxieties or phobias that do not respond to conventional treatments? Could you have lived before … and could your past life (or lives) be influencing your present life? Does “consciousness” pervade the universe? Are we all truly interconnected? Is there any reason to believe in “divinity”? Discover how children ages 2 through 6 provide some of the most compelling evidence for reincarnation, as well as how psychiatrists and psychologists can often cure unexplained fears and phobias via past-life regression therapy. Learn how past-life regression hypnosis reveals that soul mates enjoyed a relationship in one or more of their past lives. Experience stories that may change your life! This multimedia presentation will include videos, course materials and a lively discussion.

This course builds upon the Spirituality for the 21st Century — Reincarnation & Past Lives class. Continue to explore the research of psychiatrists, psychologists and medical doctors into the realm of spirituality with a special focus on the afterlife. We look at questions such as: What does it feel like to die? What do we see and feel right after death? What is the spirit world really like? Will we see our loved ones there? Will we see our animal friends, our pets? Are we judged and, if so, by whom? Is there a hell? What do we do as souls in the “interlife”? Will we learn the purpose of life? Will we “see” our creator? Do we plan our next lives — the time, place and reason for our return? All these questions and others will be explored in this intensive presentation based on actual case histories of past-life regression subjects who recalled their “life between life.” This multimedia presentation will include videos, course materials and a lively discussion.

Shushan Covered Bridge Museum Tour
May 30
Friday | 1 to 3 p.m. | Shushan Covered Bridge Museum, Shushan
Shushan Covered Bridge Museum is housed in a covered bridge built in 1858 by Stevens Bros. The bridge is of Town Lattice Truss construction, 161 feet long. The Town Lattice Truss design was one of about 20 wooden-bridge truss types developed during the 19th century. Patented Jan. 1, 1820, by Ithiel Town, an architect from Bridgeport, Connecticut, it was extensively promoted by him throughout the south. By 1840, it had become one of a few standard types chosen by local builders because of its ease of construction. The bridge was abandoned by the county in 1962 and sat in disrepair for more than 10 years until it was saved by Shushan Covered Bridge Association, which converted it into a museum.
A collection of period machinery and farm implements, many in working order, are used by visitors for hands-on demonstrations. A few yards from the bridge entrance stands a one-room schoolhouse that was in continuous use from 1852 to 1943. The school is open to visitors and is furnished with desks and texts from the 19th century.
