Animal Kingdom: Vertebrates
Are you interested in animals? This course will investigate the main groups of creatures with bones, the higher animals or vertebrates. These are the fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Learn what is so special about the different animals and how they differ from each other. Find out how they interact with each other and with us! You will use the web and the many photos and videos (several from the instructor’s private collection of vertebrate animals) that will be incorporated into the lessons to help you better understand these groups and find the answers you need.
Forensic Science: Bugs to Ballistics
Would you like to learn all about Forensic Science and how crimes are solved? Join Mr. Biss in this online course and do just that. You will study everything from forensic entomology to forgery and foot prints and then on to ballistics. This online course will be full of photos, videos and history explaining the past and present Forensic Science. You will learn in detail about the different forensic techniques and will also have some laboratory experiments you can try at home.
Creatures of Myth & Legend
You will investigate extreme and mysterious creatures of myth and legend such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. Learn how to use science to verify the existence of these creatures, determine whether evidence is authentic and put your knowledge to use about cases that are still open as we embark on a legend quest.
