The basics

To view all of your grades for a course:

  1. Click on the link for your course in Brightspace.

  2. Click on the Gradebook menu in the green navigation bar in your course.

  3. Select Grades to see your current grades and feedback from faculty.

  1. You’ll see a list of all the items you have been or will be graded on.

  1. When your grade and feedback is released by your professor there will be an orange dot on the Update Alerts bell icon.

  2. If your professor has set up the gradebook to calculate your overall grade to date, it will be listed below the words Final Calculated Grade.

Note: you will still need to complete all of the work and meet all of the requirements for the semester to earn your actual final grade. Your official final grade will be posted in Banner at the end of the semester. The grade listed here is just the grade based on the work you’ve done so far in the semester.

  1. Your grade for each assignment, discussion, quiz, exam, etc… will be listed in the Grade column.

  2. Overall Feedback from your professor about your work will be listed in the Comments and Assessments column.

Note: If your professor has marked up a document with corrections or provided feedback as an audio or video file, you will need to follow the instructions below to access your grade and feedback for a specific assignment.

For some Assignments your professor might mark up comments on a file that you submitted or they may give you audio or video feedback about your work. You can access the feedback in those Attached Files in two ways:

OPTION 1: Access feedback from Update Alerts

  1. Click on the Update Alerts bell icon.

  2. Select the link for the alert you wish to view.

  3. Scroll down to the Attached Files section and click on the link for each attached file to view, watch, or listen to them.

OPTION 2: Access feedback from the Course Activity page

  1. Select Assignments from the Course Activities menu.

  2. In the Evaluation Status column click the Unread or Read link.

  3. Scroll down to the Attached Files section and click on the link for each attached file to view, watch, or listen to them.

For some Quizzes your professor might provide written feedback about your quiz answers or they may allow you to view the questions that you got correct or wrong.

Any Overall Feedback about the quiz will be listed under Grades as well as at the bottom of the attempt information page. But to see feedback about specific questions (that may help you do better on your next quiz) you will need to follow the steps below.
