Scarchilli, 31, dedicated her graduation to her son, David. In her speech, she explained that she unexpectedly became pregnant when she was a junior in high school.
"I faced many hardships after becoming a mother. Things were difficult. It got quite ugly, even scary at times," said Scarchilli. "I am living, breathing proof that even in the darkest of times there is still a light, even if you have to search deep down within to find it, I promise it's there. You've got it, I've got it, we've all got it."
