Liberal Arts Humanities & Social Sciences

SUNY Adirondack offers a two-year Associate in Art (AA) degree in Humanities and Social Science as part of the Liberal Arts and Sciences track.

The humanities and social science fields provide a diverse education spanning literature, philosophy, history, economics, fine arts, theatre and psychology. This program helps set a solid foundation for students to transfer to a four-year institution for their degree of choice.

The Humanities and Social Science degree will help students learn to interpret and experience the world around them. Invaluable skills like communication, thinking for yourself and problem solving are the core of this program and help students to see the diversity in societies around the world. Further study in scientific method, artistic expression, psychology and sociology give context to the human experience that drives our lives, both professional and personal.

Elective classes including the arts, foreign languages, and theatre will enhance the learning experience and give Liberal Arts’ students a better understanding of what concentration and future degree best fits their personal career path.

SUNY Adirondack offers small class sizes and access to dedicated faculty who have years of experience studying the humanities and social science discipline. Students are able to take a variety of classes that not only meet program requirements but also satisfy their personal interests. Advisors and instructors work closely with graduates to achieve their goals as they transfer.

Access to guest speakers, performers, student clubs, on-campus exhibits, and theatre performances all make this a truly well rounded degree.
