Basketball, soccer among clinics offered to regional youth

QUEENSBURY, New York (May 31, 2022) — SUNY Adirondack’s Athletics is proud to announce its summer programs for athletes of all ages.

High school girls are invited to Adirondack Women’s Soccer ID Clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25. Players who will be in grades 10 through 12 in Fall 2022 can attend the clinic, which includes work on skills and concepts, as well as game play, for $20. SUNY Adirondack’s Women’s Basketball team will host a Girls Basketball Clinic from July 11 to 14 in the college’s Gymnasium. Eligible students are those in grades 5 through 12 in Fall 2022; players will be grouped according to age and ability. 

The clinic, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will focus on fundamentals and include personal attention in passing, shooting, dribbling, rebounding and defense. Participants should bring water, lunch and a snack.

Timberwolves Basketball Clinic for Boys will be offered July 25 to 28 for children in grades 3 to 8 in the college’s Gymnasium. The clinic, which will be group by age and skill level, will work on individual skill development and game strategies. 

The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $225, with a $25 discount for each additional sibling within a family. Participants should bring a water bottle, lunch and a snack.

SUNY Adirondack’s Men’s Basketball team will offer a Prospect Clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 and 21. The clinic is geared toward high school athletes in grades 10 to 12 in Fall 2022 who wish to play college basketball and have interest in SUNY Adirondack.

Participants will receive instruction from current Timberwolves and coaching staff, with time allotted for skill development, small-sided games, 5v5 games and a campus tour. Coaches from other colleges will be present.

The college will also offer SUNY Adirondack Volleyball All-Skills Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 13 and 14 for varsity-level players and 1 to 4 p.m. for JV players. Top coaches in the region will offer work on positioning, full-court experience and major skills.
