"Why Not?" How Healthy Boundaries Support Client Success
April 12
Friday | 9:30 to 11 a.m. | Live synchronous

Please note: This training will be held online through Zoom. Preregistration is required using the Zoom meeting registration link here.

The desire to do good may threaten client self-efficacy as healthcare professionals navigate "gray areas" within their relationships. In this session, participants will explore their responsibility to set appropriate boundaries and its impact on client success. Participants will identify clear, realistic expectations for their professional interactions while aligning with the requirements of their employer. Topics addressed include accepting gifts from clients, providing goods, addressing controversial situations and upholding legal and professional standards. At the conclusion, participants will understand the need and value of boundaries to proceed with confidence within healthy and supportive client relationships.
This training is funded by SUNY Adirondack through a State University of New York (SUNY) Future of Work Centers Grant, and sponsored by SUNY Adirondack, Healthy Capital District, and Hudson Mohawk AHEC.

Medication Supported Recovery (MSR, formerly MAT) is an important component of addiction treatment modalities and recovery pathways. This half-day workshop offers recovery coaches and peer recovery professionals the opportunity to understand and explore the realities, myths and stigmas in support of addiction treatment and sustained recovery. In addition to commonly known and prescribed therapies, we will also explore the growing field of harm reduction and alternative therapies. Importantly, this workshop provides recovery support professionals the opportunity to explore their own biases and perspectives toward this often-stigmatized recovery pathway.
